After WW 1 Danny, a poor paisano, returns to Tortilla Flat in Monterey, California. He moves into a house left to him by his grandfather but within short finds himself joined there by a bunch of likewise poor paisanos who can’t pay the rent but are more than willing to share their frienship with him.Tortilla Flat tells the humorous story of these characters who spend their time drinking wine and doing little else – except for thieving, chasing women, and occasionally fighting with each other. Yet through all of these adventures they remain the truest of friends.
